Editorial Policy

MTG App publishes practical, tools-first guidance for Magic: The Gathering players. Our coverage focuses on deckbuilding workflows, mana-curve analysis, draft practice, combo research, and card and set discovery. The goal is to help readers make better decisions—not bury a simple answer beneath a pile of +1/+1 counters.

How we choose topics

We prioritize questions where a tool, useful metric, or repeatable process improves the answer. That includes diagnosing deck problems, comparing revisions, practicing Limited decisions, checking combo lines, and finding relevant cards or printings. Coverage may address Commander, Constructed, or Limited when the analytical workflow is central to the topic.

Articles explain what readers should measure, compare, inspect, or practice. Metrics and rules of thumb are decision aids, not universal laws. Useful advice accounts for context such as format, deck plan, matchup, budget, card availability, and player preference.

Accuracy, evidence, and sources

Factual claims are grounded in approved site information, documented experience, reliable sources, clear calculations, or identified editorial analysis. Research-based work is not presented as first-hand testing. Examples and hypothetical calculations are clearly framed so they are not mistaken for observed results.

When exact wording matters, rules, Oracle text, legality, bans, tournament policy, and official set or product details are checked against current authoritative sources. Time-sensitive information—such as prices, availability, metagame data, tournament results, and site features—is checked and dated when it materially affects the answer. We link relevant sources when they help readers verify an important claim or continue their research.

Facts, analysis, and editorial judgment

Reported facts describe information supported by a source or documented record. Analysis explains what that information means in play or deck construction. Editorial judgments—such as whether a curve is too top-heavy or a draft pick is too narrow—should explain the reasoning and the conditions behind the conclusion.

Tools are decision aids, not substitutes for context. We do not invent tool outputs, including deck grades, curve scores, draft results, combo searches, prices, or recommendations. Feature claims are checked against the current site before publication.
